ONE DAY LANDSCAPE DRAWING WORKSHOP FOR RETURNING STUDENTS

PREREQUISITE: You must have taken the 5-day Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain Intensive Workshop to attend this class. This class is not suitable for beginners.

Date and Time: Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 9:00am to 3:00pm PST

Tuition: $175

Class Description: In this one day virtual workshop we will focus on the subject matter of landscapes. We will use the five basic skills of drawing learned in the 5-day intensive (perception of edges, perception of spaces, perceptions of relationships of angles and proportions, perception of the skill of light and shadow, and perception of the Gestalt) to focus on making a landscape drawing. This workshop will help deepen your understanding of light and shadow, one of the most important components of the study of drawing. We will also focus on the importance of composition and using a photograph to help translate a 3D image into a 2D drawing. Several new skills, such as crosshatching and how to change the scale of a drawing will be covered as well.

Students will work along with the instructor in real-time with a one-hour lunch break. All students must have the art supplies from the 5-day workshop listed here. The class will be taught by Brian Bomeisler, son of Betty Edwards.
