You are invited to a full day sketching in The Legion of Honor in San Francisco. On Saturday, July 13, Brian Bomeisler, son of Betty Edwards, will lead you through a practical, hands-on day of sketching in the galleries of this beautiful museum, and he will expand upon the formal drawing instruction you have already received.
This one-day class is designed for anyone interested in learning sketching techniques and keeping a sketchbook. The prerequisite is to have taken the 5-Day Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain® Workshop. However, it is also open to those who already have drawing experience and training. For those students who have not taken the 5-Day DRSB Workshop, it will be especially helpful to read Betty Edwards' Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, particularly Chapters 7 and 8, before the workshop.

Join us for an intensive and fun day of drawing with an expert artist as your guide, along with fellow drawing students. The Legion of Honor has a wealth of material to use as reference. They also have a large number of Rodin sculptures which are especially engaging to draw. Sketchbook drawing is an art unto itself, requiring skills that can be taught: e.g., how to hold the sketchbook, how to use the “basic unit,” how to perform “sighting” while sketching. The variety of mediums we will use include pencil, pen and ink, and a specific technique using an ordinary felt tip marker.
