Some Brief Testimonials
Dear Brian,
I can't thank you enough for the confidence that I was able to gain as a result of your class. I really never viewed myself as much of a "drawer" but rather someone who could fake it pretty well with a paint brush. This new found skill has really given me a boost. I am aware that there is much more to learn and for the first time in a long time I am not afraid to "go forth." Thank you for your wisdom about staying on track because I am fearful that if I get stuck I won't have you "tweeking" my work with you excellent eye and therefore won't know how to proceed. I am finding that "failure" is a figment of my imagination and I often have to silence the critic monster in the left side of my brain. What a relief to do so! It is truly freeing when I can remember to feed myself the positive messages that need to prevail in all aspects of my life. As much as the class, I enjoyed the group of people tremendously. I don't know what other sessions have been like for you but there was just tremendous comraderie among all of us it seemed right from the start. I would very much like to take your advanced class in Novemeber and hope that you do a acrylics seminar somewhere in California next year. I understand the dynamics of preparing for the class as you explained it but heck, if you can go to England you can come to California with the supplies ( I think!) I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Roya and your 2 absolutely beautiful girls! I thought that their drawing on the grease board when we first came in was one of the most calming experiences I could have considering I was among total strangers. They reminded me to just relax and have fun. Thank you for having them around. When I figure out how to put pictures on my computer to email you bet your britches I will send some to you. I value your insight greatly. Thanks again for a terrific week.

Dear Brian,
I just wanted to write you and let you know how much I enjoyed your class last week. I feel like I have experienced a real shift in perception, and am not only acutely aware of negative space and the nuance of light and shadow in everyting I see, but that the beauty of it all now feels so accessible to me. I left New York Friday evening by train en route to Providence and was amazed at how gorgeous cold moonlight through bare trees could be. I now have this urge to draw almost everything I see - what a gift! Thank you for helping me find it.

hi Brian,
thanks for the e mail and great class. i am in india at the moment and i am really proud of some of the drawings that i have done here of where i am staying, i have a little chalet with a porch and all kinds of complicated roof directions surrounded by vegetation and i cant believe i have managed to do a pretty good drawing of it, using the techniques i have learned and perservering even though when i started i thought i'll never manage this, but i find it always works out if i stick with it. thanks again and take care!

Hi Brian,
Thank you for the email. Yes, I have been drawing, not exactly every day, but as often as I can. And I love it. Thank you for a wonderful course. It brought back to me the immense pleasure and peace of mind I used to derive from drawing, a long time ago. It enabled me to break through the barrier of my limited knowledge, and to feel that progress is possible, that I now have tools to help me learn what I want to learn. Probably the main reason I stopped drawing in my 20s was that I felt frustrated at not being able to progress. I was not happy with my level of ability, but did not know how to advance. Siofra and I are both planning to attend all of your courses at some stage in the future, so don't be surprised to see our faces in the class again. I will take up your offer and send you drawings.
Best wishes,
 --Clodagh

Dear Brian,
I'm writing to let you know how much I enjoyed the drawing class last week at the Boston Center for Adult Education. As I told you, I've had the book for 19 years, but never would have progressed so far without taking your course. It was a real stretch to come up with the money but has proved to be a very worthwhile investment. Your method of teaching and my own abilities well exceeded my expectations. Thank you very much.

I don't even know how to say a thank you big enough for what you've given me. Your help with the self-portrait really unlocked it for me. Many Thanks.

Thank you so much. I really enjoyed the class. My husband and daugther were very impressed with the work I did in your class. You are a great teacher. I have been drawing some everyday since I came home - working on some horse drawings getting ready for my next class.

Thank you for your gift of time and talent in the workshop. Our daughter has been a willing model for me and I received a "wow" from our fifteen year old son when he saw the drawing of her. I've done one small watercolor and am amazed that I may be able to really draw and paint. Not just a pipe dream! I am forever grateful to you, Brian.

Dear Mr. Brian,
Just a quick note to say "Thank You", I consider my self very very lucky to know you as a person first & to learn from you second. You've given me a hope that after all these years I still have the ability to draw. After believing that drawing is not only a talent, it can also be done by practicing the skills you taught us.....i always believe in my self that I have a gift or that I love drawing since i was a kid and i was always asking my teachers in school, 'are there special techniques to make my drawings looks better?', but there was always no Answer to this question. I'm really happy that you were part of my destiny. You did make things easy to me in drawing after struggling with measurement and other skills in the beginning. Although my paintings was not this much, but still you always find ways to encourage satisfied & make your students happy. It is my pleasure to learn from you and I will go on practicing to send you my drawings. I wish I can have the chance to see you again Mr Brain. God bless you and your family.
My very best Regards.
