Brian Bomeisler first introduced this one day class at the MET (Metropolitan Museum) in NYC for anyone interested in learning sketching techniques and keeping a sketchbook. He takes students through a practical hands on day of sketching using a sketch book, which expands on the formal drawing instruction. The class in Seattle will take place at the newly remodeled Seattle Art Museum and will be an intensive and fun day of drawing. The museum has a wealth of material to use for reference, including the special exhibit of Roman Art from the Louvre now on show through May 21st.

The sculpture galleries offer ample material to practice sketching techniques. Sketchbook drawing is an art unto itself requiring skills which can be taught; such as how to hold the sketchbook, how to use the "basic unit" and how to perform "sighting" while sketching. The variety of mediums include pencil, pen and ink and a specific technique using an ordinary felt tip marker.
